I agree that is what the research shows but I thought Wendler of all people was up to date on things secohd this and wasn’t your traditional type of guy to preach the sup companies marketing lies. In-between he puts up his own pics and that’s not convincing either because he just looks like a giant chunk of mass. Starting Strength was an in depth look at the mechanics of each major compound lift, backed up by the physics behind making each movement as efficient as possible, and why you should do them from a physiological perspective.

Second Edition ‘s beginner lifting program, and am starting to research intermediate lifting programs for when my beginner’s linear gains likely run out in the couple months. And that’s editkon I can’t really fault him for that. His site touts that this book is for “any lifter”, but really seems to neglect anybody who doesn’t fall under his own closed-off ideals of being a wide-necked muscle bro, instead of helping to open up the world of lifting to the masses.

I’m not reading this book because I wanted to scratch my itch for Hemingway. I could’ve done without a lot of the salty talk though.
